Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email or phone.

If your child has a question or concern, I am located in the A House office!

I am excited to work together with you to help your child have a successful middle school experience!

Important Reminders

  • Parents…..please remember to update your contact information in the parent portal, as needed (make sure that the school is able to reach you in the event of an emergency)

 Powerschool/Parent Portal/Grades

  • In middle school, report cards are no longer mailed home…...we ask that you check the parent portal in powerschool, which displays your child’s current grades.
  • Once an account is set up, you will have access to all of your child’s grades as soon as the teachers post them! If you did not receive your account set-up ID and password, please email me and I will send it home with your child.
  • Please check your child’s grades and teacher websites regularly to make sure that they are keeping up with assignments! If you have a question or concern regarding a class, please call or email the teacher first (as they can explain your child’s specific grades for assignments).
  • Students also have their own powerschool account and should use it to monitor their academic progress.
  • More Information on how to set up an account can also be found on the school website: Parent Portal Documents - Google Drive

Conferences

  • In middle school, we do not have regularly scheduled conferences (like at the elementary level). However, if you have concerns and would like to meet with your child’s teachers, please call me to set up a conference.
  • We normally hold conferences at 8am

Technology/Social Media/Cell Phones

Realizing that social media and technology play a role in most middle schoolers lives, we encourage students to be responsible digital citizens. Being a responsible digital citizen means using technology appropriately and operating online safely, knowledgeably and in a respectful way.

Please be aware of what your child is posting on social media sites, texting etc., as many conflicts among students stem from things posted through the use of technology.

Here are some helpful tips for parents:

  • Know all passwords to your child’s social media accounts
  • Use parental controls offered on smartphones and other devices (ipads etc.)
  • Set restrictions (websites visited, ti e on device etc.)
  • Routinely have your child go through their phone and social media accounts with you
  • Require that all devices charge in your room at night (many students are up all night playing games on phone, texting etc.)
